90 Day Juice Feast – Day 2 – Honey Creamed Melon Dream

Day 2 has been lovely. I woke up with a tiny headache that passed quickly and a very good mood that didn’t :) . I have felt very “in my body” today, things are just feeling nice. I realized that this is the first time I’ve fasted/feasted in the company of other people and while having so much going on. Previously during 3-10 day fasts I’ve been alone, not working and generally not having a lot happening. This is more challenging in some ways (easier to feel busy and overwhelmed and want to eat) and easier in others (I’m distracted from food with a lot of things I really enjoy).

As far as tools, I love my Breville juicers but since I’ve been juicing so much citrus lately I thought it would be simpler to have a citrus juicer to avoid peeling a million oranges (at least) every day. I picked up a $20 one from Target and wasn’t impressed…so I’m back to peeling. I do, however, recommend a good set of ceramic knives.

Physically, it was nice to wake up with a flatter stomach today but my face was a little puffy and looked like it was retaining some fluid. I haven’t had any terrible cravings, starchy food has sounded good but not in a desperate way. Lastly I’m sharing a delicious new recipe Honey Creamed Melon Heaventhat will probably become a staple. Introducing…Honey Creamed Melon Dream.

Ingredients:

1 cantaloupe or galia melon
2 Tbsp raw honey
chunk of ginger

Halve melon and scoop out seeds. Slice into pieces that will fit in your juicer. Juice melon and ginger and blend with honey.

Breville’s Citrus Juicer is worth the price. I use it daily, especially for my family of 4, all of whom drink lemon water, orange & grapefruit juice daily. I personally also juice at least 10 lemons per day for my juice concoctions.

p.s. I’m jealous that you can consume so many “fruit” juices. I cannot, as perhaps may be the case with others? I find if I do consume too much fruit it brings on the urge to drink alcohol, which is an issue for me. For those of us fighting addiction issues, veg juices might be the best answer. Certainly for me, at least.
